Building work commences at the Retreat Site!

One of our biggest focuses this year is our Retreat site project. For years, we have held a vision to restore the retreat site which has become so dilapidated, that all the buildings had been reduced to rubble.

Our vision is to host a place (Penial - meaning Face to Face with God) where local, national, and international people, youth groups, churches, families and other organisations can come away from daily life and receive input, healing, restoration and revelation. There will be opportunity for retreats to be facilitated by us with teaching, counselling, prayer and worship, or a less hands-on approach where we just host our guests and allow them to have their own schedule and time.

We strongly feel NOW is the time to start fulfilling the vision for the retreat and building has commenced! So far, we have built the shell of one of the rondavels (round houses) but we still need to finish the house on the inside. We intend to build another five or six of these self-contained houses that overlook the beautiful African bush and Sachibondu river.

We have almost finished a store house where we can safely store all the equipment needed for the construction of the rest of the buildings onsite. On the completion of that, we will restore the meeting place and re-thatch the grass roof, build an ablution block and much more. We have our first international conference booked for July this year, so we need the ablution block and meeting place to be finished by then! Watch this space!

Progress on the new Store house at the Retreat site

The first new Rondavel (round house) overlooking the beautiful African bush. We are yet to finish and furnish inside so that it becomes self-contained with bathroom and kitchen

The meeting place is in desperate need of restoration. We are going to extend the slab to make it bigger, then re-thatch the roof. This meeting place overlooks the beautiful rushing river below.
