About Us
Find out about the work being done at Sachibondu Mission
Sachibondu is to be a centre of excellence and righteousness, practically demonstrating the kingdom of God through Spiritual discipleship, Practical training and holistic empowerment.
Sachibondu continues to be a supernatural Well of Revival, a place where anyone hungry to meet with God and desperate to know Him better, finds His presence so tangibly felt in their lives.
We have expanded to include a Retreat centre, a local church, a rural health centre, and a small primary school. The vision that God gave to Gordon and Peggy Suckling so many years ago remains alive in the hearts of those who have continued to build on the foundation they left.
Our Team
Meet the Sachibondu Team

Andy & Eira Patching
Andy and Eira Patching answered God's call to come to Sachibondu in May 2012 to begin to re-dig the Well of Revival that had been dormant there for some years. They were alone as missionaries, dealing with opposition and attacks, in the midst of bringing God's presence and love back to this place that had once known the manifest presence and power of the Holy Spirit in a profound way. Slowly God began to add more missionaries to the team, including other family members, and their spiritual son and daughter, Sylvester and Mary Mwamba.
After 11 years of serving at Sachibondu as leaders, God has moved them on to another family inheritance, another Well of Revival that has been blocked for many years... Kalene Mission.
This mission was begun by Eira's great grandparents in 1905 and is in dire need of resurrection also. However, during the transition, they continue to have much to do at Sachibondu, helping with advise and counsel in many different issues. Their "Father/Mother" role continues to many.

Jon & Becks Burston
Jon and Becks and their two children, Grace and Isaac felt the calling of God to leave the UK and make Sachibondu their home in 2017. However, Becks was born in Zambia and she is the granddaughter of Gordon Suckling (The founder). The family go back four generations serving God in various places across the nation.
Along with the team, Becks and Jon are passionate about seeing God glorified at Sachibondu in and through the lives of those who live there and the surrounding area. Sachibondu is known as a 'Well of Revival' and Becks and Jon prayerfully seek to see Revival come to Sachibondu, across the nation and the nations of the world.
They have a heart to serve the church, the Hospital, and the Youth at Sachibondu and do this in many ways. From using their vehicle as an ambulance to transport critical patients to a nearby hospital, teaching at the bible school, marriage counselling and prayer groups are a few of the ways in which they are pursuing, to serve the local people.
Becks and Jon see the lack of mother and father role models in young people's lives and seek to serve the youth by being a mother and father through discipleship programs and sharing their lives with them. -
Sylvester & Mary Mwamba
Sylvester and Mary Mwamba, and their daughter Joy responded to the call of God on their lives to move to Sachibondu as missionaries from Ndola, Zambia in 2018.
It was a huge leap of faith, leaving their comfort zone of family, jobs and business.
Sylvester is the Youth Zone chairperson for three Christian Community Churches and Mary is helping as assistant teacher at the Pre-school.Our mission is to invest our resources and our time into the younger generation, to make disciples of Jesus Christ; reaching the unfathered. To be their role models and challenge them to follow suit and to tap into untapped potentials.
Mary is passionate about and trained as a gospel artist, having worked in a studio before, she has a desire and vision to train youth within music. Our aim is reach far and beyond in our quest to make our Savior Jesus Christ known as He would accord us the capacity to do so.

Simon & Abigail Lloydbottom
Simon and Abi, and their three children, started the journey of joining the team in Sachibondu in 2019 after they both felt lead into mission in Zambia.
Since then, they have answered the call by travelling back to Abigail’s roots, Sachibondu being founded by her Grand-father, and Zambia being influenced by the teaching, counsel and love of her Father and Mother (Kenneth and Claire Suckling).
Simon and Abi share the heart of the team in Sachibondu, to see revival come flow through Sachibondu once again and into the nation of Zambia and to support the team and the local people in any way in which they can, they are passionate about serving the lost, broken and poor.

Anne Bentley
Anne Bentley is a daughter of Gordon and Peggy Suckling who founded Sachibondu. Having lived at Sachibondu in the 1980s, Brian and Anne felt God wanted them to return and minister to the local people. They returned in 2015 but sadly Brian passed away in 2020. However, Anne felt God wanted her to stay and continue her work at Sachibondu.
Her vision is that people will experience the fear of the Lord as well as His presence when they step onto Sachibondu land; that it will become a place of righteousness and revival. Her passion is to pray for the sick and hurting, so Anne visits patients at the clinic every day with Steph Reed to pray with them and counsel them. God has graciously given many answers to prayer. There is nothing better than to see someone healed and whole, having lived for years with chronic pain!
Steph and Anne also purchase bales of second-hand clothes from town which are sold for reasonable prices to the local people to provide the clinic with an income to buy food and other items for the patients.

Graham & Steph Reed
Graham and Steph have gradually become part of the Sachibondu team since their first visit in 2014. Graham is following in the footsteps of his family who have worked as missionaries in Lundaland, where he was born, for more than a century. Steph is pursuing a calling to Africa that she received in her twenties.
Steph works with Anne Bentley, regularly visiting the hospital to prayerfully attend to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients.
Graham is deeply involved in supporting the primary and pre-school as well as other rural education in the surrounding area.
Together, the Reeds are passionate about discipling, nurturing and encouraging new Christians and a young emerging church. Many and diverse are their daily activities in line with a longing to see God's Kingdom come.
Our History
Find out more about the founding of Sachibondu
Gordon Suckling was given a vision by God in 1959 to build a Bible School. He asked God to show him where to build the Bible school, and during his bush-walking he found a beautiful place, high on a hill, overlooking a small river called the Lwakera, with a stream called the Sachibondu running into it. This was where the name “Sachibondu” came from.
Through much prayer, many battles were fought to procure this beautiful piece of forest, and finally Gordon Suckling began to prepare the land, in 1960 to build, not only his personal house, but 9 two-roomed houses, being accommodation for the Bible School God had given him and Peggy his wife, such a passionate vision for.
In August 1960, Gordon, Peggy and their family moved into their grass huts (home for a year) and began the building of the Bible School. In January 1961 the first 4-month Bible school with 7 couples, was held. It was a great success, and the students encountered the Holy Spirit in powerful ways during their stay at Sachibondu.
In March 1965 tragedy struck. Gordon and Peggy’s second son, Patrick was killed in a car accident in Lusaka whilst at Boarding school. The Bible school that was in session at that time, began to experience the love and power of the Holy Spirit in new ways, and the fear of God came upon the whole community. Men and women, steeped in witchcraft, alcoholism and adultery gave their lives to God and were transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. These were the leaders of the future, who became the pillars of the church that was birthed through this amazing revival…Christian Fellowships in Zambia.
Sachibondu continues to be a supernatural Well of Revival….a place where anyone hungry to meet with God and desperate to know Him better, finds His presence so tangibly felt in their lives. It has expanded to include a Retreat centre, a local church, a Rural Health Centre, and a small primary school. The vision that God gave to Gordon and Peggy Suckling so many years ago remains alive in the hearts of those who have continued to build on the foundation they left. Although the Bible School has not been so active in the years since Gordon passed away in 1997, it is still very much a work that we want to see grow and expand in the years to come.
